Ingredients Source 2008
Successful Global Sourcing Strategies for the Food & Beverage Industry
24 - 26 November 2008, Amsterdam
In recent years the price of ingredients and raw materials have seen an unprecedented rise, with wheat prices rising by over 83% in the past year alone. Ingredients price increases have come at a time of increasing retailer competitiveness, coupled with consumer concerns about spiralling food bills. This has placed food manufacturers and in particular sourcing and procurement departments under intense pressure to deliver maximum value to their supply chains.
Sourcing departments are increasingly relying on sourcing strategies, supplier collaboration and market insight to combat ever-increasing ingredients costs. However, consumers and retailers are still demanding, ethically and locally sourced food ingredients, creating the challenge of sourcing from limited markets in price sensitive times.
Ingredients Source 2008 has been designed to tackle the fundamental challenges of overcoming higher ingredients prices, by utilising the latest thinking on strategic sourcing, sourcing, emerging ingredient ‘hotspots’ and supplier collaboration to guarantee the sustainability and security of supply.
